SHORTEST DISTANCE: Interstate 81 - Exit 35 at Chilhowie, VA. Take County Road 762/Whitetop Road South for 12 miles. This road crosses Iron Mountain and requires a heavy duty vehicle as the road is up and over with few curves. Whitetop Road intersects with Highway 603 at the bottom of the mountain. Continue on Whitetop Road and cross the Laurel Creek Bridge. McCray Restaurant (The Outpost) is on the left. Go approx 100 yards and make a sharp LEFT TURN onto Whitetop Road. The Camp is 1 mile up the mountain on the RIGHT past the Country Cemetery. There are two drive ways to enter the camp. DO NOT miss as there are no turn arounds on the ascent to Mt Rogers.<
ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS: Exit 45 off Interstate 81 @ Marion VA. South on Highway 16 to Troutdale VA. Turn right onto Highway 603 @ Jerry's kitchen for 12 miles to Whitetop Road. Turn left onto Highway 600 -Whitetop Road for 100 yards, and then left again onto Highway 600-Whitetop Road. Camp is one mile up on right.

SHORTEST MILEAGE: Two lane and winding roads. Hillsville VA exit off Interstate 77 and follow Highway 58 West onto Highway 16 at Mouth of Wilson and on to Troutdale Virginia. DO NOT take Highway 58 route at Volney. Remain on Highway 16 to Troutdale VA. Turn left onto Highway 603 @ Jerry's kitchen for 12 miles to Whitetop Road. Turn left onto Highway 600 for 100 yards, and then left again onto Highway 600-Whitetop Road. Camp is one mile up on right. OR
INTERSTATE DRIVING: Continue on I-77 at Hillsville VA to Interstate 81 West and exit at either Exit 45 or Exit 35.
